Since 1945

Four generations of the same trade.

Eighty-one years of Arkansas masonry, passed down through one family. The tools changed. What we will put our name on did not.

Who We Are

A trade handed down four times.

Primestone Heritage began as a family masonry business in 1945. Four generations later the family is still laying brick, block and stone across Arkansas — and the company carries that history in its name on purpose.

In its current form the business is seven years old, co-owned by John DeArmin, who runs the business side, and Tony Stephens, who runs the build. John handles the estimating, the contracts and the client relationship. Tony is on site with the crew. When you ask a question, one of the two owners answers it — not a coordinator three steps removed from the wall.

In eighty-one years we have never run an advertisement. Every job we have ever done came from somebody telling somebody else. That is a good problem and a limiting one: it means the work finds us instead of us choosing it.

Our Difference

Why the referrals keep coming.

Eighty-one years of work with no marketing behind it only happens one way — by being the crew people are willing to put their own name behind.

Four generations of it

Founded in 1945 and still run by the same family. Techniques, mortar knowledge and a standard of finish that took four generations to accumulate.

Both owners on the job

John runs the business, Tony runs the build. There is no layer between you and the people accountable for the work.

We show up when we say

The single most common reason we get referred. Schedules held, crews sized as promised, and a call when something changes.

Nearly everything self-performed

Masonry, framing, roofing, remodels. Everything except plumbing — one contract instead of coordinating four subs.

Commercial and residential

From a residential foundation to a $3M church. The same crew and the same standard on both.

Built entirely on referral

Zero advertising in eighty-one years. Every job came from someone who was happy enough to recommend us.

The Owners

Two owners. Two jobs.

Between them they cover the whole engagement — and both are reachable.

Co-owner · Business

John DeArmin

Estimating, contracts, scheduling and the client relationship. An HR manager by trade before taking over the business side, John is the person to talk to about pricing a job, timelines, and anything to do with the paperwork.

Co-owner · Build

Tony Stephens

Runs the build and the crew on site. Layout, sequencing, material and the standard the wall gets held to. If the question is about how something is going to be built, it goes to Tony.

Where We Are Going

Known for block. Built for a great deal more.

Because block foundations are what we get referred for, that is what most people assume we do. It is a fraction of it.

We have laid eighty thousand brick on a single church. We have taken a 130-year-old building back to sound by hand. We build the monument signs in front of shopping centres, the stone on 55+ retirement communities, the fireplaces people sit in front of every winter, and the shells of restaurants and retail build-outs.

Commercial new construction is where this company is heading, and it is where four generations of accumulated skill actually gets used. If you are a general contractor or a developer pricing masonry, that is the conversation we want to be in.
